I surf the Internet at limitless speed—flying from one page to the next, with an attention span of less than a second. I probably surf through a couple of thousand pages a day. And this got me thinking: What is the first website that I constantly pull up when I turn on my computer in the morning?
I know my answer is going to sound like a cliché, but Google is my starting point. I really have no direction; I let news find me through Twitter and blogs—completely different from 3 years ago when the New York Times was my homepage.
I asked my peers the same question:

It’s between these three:
Ted.com for inspiration and interesting discussions.
Inc.com for latest business news and innovative start-up ideas.
Deviantart.com for visual stimulation and creative inspiration.

news.ycombinator.com: A very healthy mix of startup news, technology news, and generally good ideas. If you’re interested in new startup launches, new developments in programming languages, or sound business advice, it’s a fantastic resource.

Whatever is the thought in my head at the moment. I hate the monotony of the same site over and over—I like to look at new sites all the time. You cant go wrong with some weather.com in your life though—it’s always good to be prepared for mother nature.

Google Reader. It’s how I learn things that help me do my job better. A close second is Google Analytics which partly tells me how well I’m doing my job.

I have a handful of websites that I pull up immediately, but I always pull up CNN.com first, in order to quickly scan current local and international news, weather, stock market figures, etc.

It used to be Gmail until I got a blackberry, now it’s www.people.com… it’s such a guilty pleasure!

The BBC or Hotmail—I need to check my email and know what’s going on in the world. Plus the BBC’s day in pictures is pretty interesting.

Hypebot. I’m a huge music tech nerd and they usually sift through the noise to find the best news and legit up-and-coming music tech companies.
