During my spare time I love to cook, seek out the next great beer (most recent find was a Sixpoint Express I had at Pacific Standard), draw/sketch, and to develop my own photographs (even though I haven’t done that in a year or so). And it got me thinking–outside of work what are some of my collegues’ hobbies? So I asked my colleagues:

In my spare time I like to paint, draw, play video games (Earthbound–w00t!), practicing and studying Japanese, and I know it’s nerdy but am absolutely unabashedly passionate about Dungeons & Dragons.

I am an avid cyclist (used to live in the Alsace region of France, a great place for cycling). A month ago, I began Muay Thai (Thai Boxing). So far, I’ve been going at least 4 times per week. I also play pickup soccer at least once a week. Other than that, my hobbies include domain name buying, video editing, and learning new languages.

I play poker. I’m even a tournament poker player (Texas Hold ‘Em)–watch out!

I love skiing, lacrosse and other sports, but most people don’t know I really like art. Believe it or not, once upon a time I wanted to be an art teacher! This fall I’m actually painting two murals at local city schools through an organization called New York Cares. It’s a great organization where you can find a variety of volunteer activities from helping out at animal shelters to gardening.

A personal favorite hobby is food hunting anywhere I go. I love going to Flushing and Jackson Heights looking for Ecuadorian and Mexican food stands–I really love arepas, huaraches, and llapingachos (Ecuadorian potato cakes).

I read a lot (history, business, math/computer science). Sometimes I bake Cornell bread.

I snowboard and I used to spin records–both not as much as I used to.
