Objectives

Drive traffic to PriorTax.com through organic search results by targeting keywords that would be most effective in bringing new leads to the website and lowering the cost of the company’s pay-per-click spending. Until December, PriorTax.com was waging an escalating battle with their pay-per-click competitors as each website continually increased its bids on targeted keywords. Less than 1% of their visitors came from organic search results.

Methodology:

The PriorTax.com website was optimized to be more search engine friendly while Blue Fountain Media performed in-depth analysis to determine the strengths and weaknesses of PriorTax.com’s online competitors, then sought out ways of overcoming them. Quality content was created, which attracted highly relevant links and qualified visitors to the website.

As the CEO put it, “I’m glad to have the Blue Fountain Media team on my side.” Today, 30% of traffic to the website is a direct result of SEO, saving Prior Tax enough money to be able to increase their pay-per-click bids higher than what their competitors can afford. PriorTax.com is now on page 1 of Google for over 46 competitive keywords, and seasonal traffic had increased by 8 fold.

Prior Tax was able to take advantage of organic rankings during the late tax filing peak seasons in October (the deadline for filing with an extension) and April (the final deadline for filing 2005 taxes late). The website did not have to pay for each click that it received from the massive amount of searching done during those periods for the services they provide,the most prominent one being 2009 tax return filing.
