What is a QR Code?

A Quick Response code (QR) is a specific matrix barcode, or two-dimensional code, that is readable by dedicated QR readers, smartphones, and computers with webcams. The code consists of black modules arranged in a square pattern on a white background. The information encoded may be text, URL, or other data.

How QR Codes Work

Data such as URL link or a text message is translated into a code by a website generator. The information on the code can be read with a mobile camera that has a QR reader.

How to Make QR Codes

Generating a QR code is very simple.

1. Pick what you want embedded into the Qr code (i.e. URL, text, phone number)

2. Choose from the many QR websites out there. Kaywa and QR Stuff can generate codes.

3. Head to the site, add the content (i.e URL), pick a color and hit download.

Below is an example of a QR code I created on QR Stuff.

Open your mobile QR code reader and see where it takes you!
