Font

What is Font?

A set of characters of a particular typeface design and size. In 1996 Microsoft initiated “Core Fonts for the Web”, a program to create a set of standard internet fonts. This lead to release of many popular fonts, such as Times New Roman, Helvetica, and Arial.

Web-Safe Fonts

It is important to use commonly used web-safe fonts when creating online content. If a visitor’s browser is unable to display a font, then it will revert to its default font. CSS allows for multiple back-up fonts when if the primary font cannot be displayed by a browser. Read this article by Google on new web safe fonts.

Font Sandbox

We thought it would be fun for our visitors to see and write in different fonts. So we embedded a font sandbox. Enjoy!
