Panda Update
Panda Update

What is Google’s Update?

Google’s Panda update is basically a revision to the Google algorithm that penalizes low quality content by lowering organic search rankings for pages it considers to be of poor quality.

Panda Update & Search Engine Optimization

The panda update changed how SEO is performed. No more is it enough just to do create good content, keyword research, place keywords strategically on a page, and get websites to link to that page. Google is now measuring as stated by Rand Fisher “the broader experience of the website.”  Here are some things to consider:

1. Design & User Experience

Design a professional websites design to help establish trust and credibility with your visitors. If your site is outdated (1995) or has to many ads it could be penalized by Google.

2. Quality Content

Forget about creating content just for the purpose of SEO. You need to do better. Create content that your visitors find interesting and want to share with others.

3. Visitor Metrics

The panda update also takes in account user metrics like:

Time on Site

How long are visitors spending on your site? Do they leave right away or do they spend a fair amount of time?

Bounce Rate

Do visitors immediately leave from the page they entered your site or do they view 2,3, or 4 pages?

CTR from SERPs

Are users clicking onto your site from search engine result pages?

Visitor Diversity

Where are the visitors coming from? Are they local, regional, or global?
