Why lie? I need a beer!

Besides the SEO disadvantages of Flash (most search engines have trouble indexing it) here are just a few usability problems with Flash intros:

They increase load timesIt's like a telemarketer expecting you stay on the line through 30 seconds of music before they even start their pitch.

They can look cheesy. This in not 2001; just cause we can do it, doesn’t mean we should.

Sound can be intrusive, and when browsing at work or in public, users don't like things that bring them unwanted attention.
